  • Put the mixture into the tin and bake for around 10-15 mins until a skewer or fork comes out clean.

Decoration – for the mummy cakes:

  • Make sure your cakes are flat on top, you may need to shave the top off to make them flat.
  • Roll out some white fondant icing next to some black fondant icing (also rolled out.)
  • Cut the black and the white into strips.
  • Put one black strip in the middle of the cake then layer the white strips on top.
  • For the eyes, make tiny round white circles and put 2 even smaller black circles on top.
  • Place the eyes onto the black strip of icing and that is the mummy cakes done!

Decoration – for the spider web cakes:

  • Make sure your cakes are flat on top, you may need to shave the top off to make them flat.
  • Roll out some green and black fondant icing.
  • Cut the green icing into circles (big enough to cover the top of the cake.) Place the green circles on to the top of the cake.
  • Now cut the black icing into very thin strips and copy the picture of the cakes above!

September Favourites – Sorry

I know it only seems like a week ago when I did my August Favourites but time has flown by so fast… And now it is October. I’m going to be honest… I haven’t really discovered anything new so for my October Favourites I will add in the one thing I came up with for September Favourites.

Thanks,

DIY Glitter Pens!

I made these a few months ago and I thought they were brilliant.

You may want to do this on a surface you don’t mind getting messy because it will!

Equipment:

– Glue     -Glitter      -A tap       -Some Biro Pens (which you can easily take apart)

-A glass    -A spoon

Method:

– Remove the inside of the pen like this;

– Then fill your glass with a few spoons of water;

– After that add a couple of spoons of glue and mix it up until it looks quite milky;

– Pour some of the glue mixture into the empty pen tube; Be careful as this is a lot more fiddly than it looks, you may want to use a jug with a thin spout to help. When you have poured it in it should look like this;

– To make them glittery though, pour some glitter into the pen until it is 3 quarters full. Then put your fingers over the holes and shake the pen until the glitter has covered the entire pen like this;

I used purple and gold glitter but a lot of other colours or even more than 2 types of glitter.

I hope you enjoy making these pens!
