24 Days of Sparkle Girl – DIY Snowflakes

These are some cute little Christmas decorations which are so simple to make!

Your will need:

  • Scissors
  • Plain Paper

Method:

  • Fold a piece of paper in half
  • On the folded side, cut in anything you want:

  • Unfold the paper and….

SNOWFLAKES!

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – Shortbread Snowflakes

These are very fun to bake and , of course, eat!

Ingredients:

  • 125g Unsalted Butter
  • 55g Caster Sugar
  • 180g Plain Flour
  • White/White Chocolate Icing

Method:

  • Heat up the over to 190C
  • Beat the butter and the sugar together until it looks a bit like buttercream
  • Mix the flour into the butter and sugar until it looks like a paste
  • Chill them in the oven for 20 minutes then roll them out on a flat surface
  • Using a circular cutter, cut out the paste then bake for 10-15 minutes until they are a light golden brown
  • Put them on a cooling rack for 10 minutes
  • Copy the icing design  on the picture above

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – Pretty Pinecones

These are great decorations and look really nice on a mantle piece or with a fruit bowl.

Equipment:

  • Pine cones (you  can buy these in wilkinsons for £1)
  • Glue
  • Green glitter

Method:

  • Mix the green glitter with the glue until it has a soup-like consistency
  • Using a small paintbrush, dab a little bit of the glitter glue onto each section of the pine cone

This was a really easy quick decoration to make.

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – Places to Put Your Christmas Lights!

Although most people put their lights on their tree… If you want some extra sparkle around your entire house, here are a few ideas:

  • If you have a fireplace, hang them from the mantelpiece
  • On your banisters or handrail of any stairs
  • On bookshelves or even just shelves
  • Round window frames
  • Along the curtain rail
  • At the top of the bed’s headboard!

Basically any flat surface would work!

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – How to Make Marshmallow Snowmen in 3 Steps!

These are cute little Christmas snacks which, can get a bit messy!

Ingredients:

  • Big white marshmallows
  • Black or chocolate icing

Extra:

  • Some cocktail sticks

Method:

  • Put 3 marshmallows on one cocktail stick
  • Using the icing draw a face and buttons onto the marshmallows
  • Poke another cocktail stick horizontally across the middle marshmallow

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – Fun Santa Picture!

This is a fun creative thing to do with younger children!

You will need:

  • Gold or silver glitter paint (or both!)
  • A coloured in picture/drawing of Santa and his reindeer
  • A small paintbrush
  • Plain black (a4) piece of paper
  • A glue stick

Steps:

  • Print out (or draw your own) picture of Santa and reindeer.
  • Cut it out and colour it in.
  • Squeeze a little bit of paint onto a plate and fill up a glass of water.
  • Dot all of the paper with little bits of paint to look like stars, I have made a trail of stars to follow the sleigh
  • Using a glue stick, stick the Santa cut-out onto the black starry paper.

Now you have finished, maybe you could stick it on your wall or something!

24 Days of Sparkle Girl – DIY Holly and Leaves

I will show you how to make this fabulous Christmas vase using only a few things! This looks great on a mantelpiece, bookshelf or many more places…

You will need:

  • A pre-lit holly garland (from wilkinsons for £8)
  • A medium-sized vase
  • A golden leaf/stick (also from wilkinsons)
  • A sharp pair pf scissors

Steps:

  • First place your holly garland in the vase, making sure the wire and switch is behind the vase.
  • Cut around 2-4cm off the bottom of the golden sticks, be careful as the golden sticks may scratch you.
  • Put the golden sticks to the back of your vase, making sure you don’t poke through one of the lights!

Now you have done, switch on the lights and enjoy!
